Lebanese Restaurant London: KINZ Opens in Notting Hill

We have opened the doors to KINZ in Notting Hill, our new Lebanese restaurant in London and our tribute to the Lebanon we know and love. The Lebanon of sunlit coastlines, mountain villages, family kitchens, long lunches and generous tables. Bright, rustic and full of warmth, KINZ has been created to feel like a breath of fresh air in the city, a place where the real spirit of Lebanon can be felt from the moment you step inside.
Arabic word for “treasure”, KINZ, is built around the gems of Lebanese food and hospitality: recipes passed down through families, slow rituals, flavourful mezze, fragrant spices, bright herbs and dishes made to be shared. For us, Lebanese food has never been just about eating. It is memory, welcome, comfort and abundance, brought to the table with care.
A New Restaurant in Notting Hill with the Soul of Lebanon
We wanted KINZ to bring something to London that felt soulful and full of light. A new restaurant in Notting Hill that captures the Lebanon of open windows, coastal air, rustic textures and tables filled with food. The space is bright, airy and Mediterranean, with a sense of warmth and discovery woven through every detail.
Being Lebanese (Jad, Karim and Rasha), we wanted KINZ to feel deeply personal rather than simply designed around a concept. This Lebanese restaurant is shaped by the food we grew up with, the family tables we remember and the kind of generous hospitality that has always been part of our lives. For us, creating a restaurant in London was about bringing those memories into a fresh, contemporary setting, while keeping the feeling warm, honest and rooted in Lebanon.
Inside KINZ, we want guests to feel transported. Not to an idea of Lebanon, but to the Lebanon we grew up with and return to in our memories: village homes, family gatherings, fresh produce, generous hosts and food that always arrives with meaning. It is this feeling, personal, comforting and quietly special, that we wanted to bring to west London.

Authentic Lebanese Food, Made from Family Recipes
Our food is rooted in home-cooked Lebanese family recipes, shaped by the flavours, rituals and memories that have been passed from one generation to the next.
Many of the dishes are inspired by Elene Lahoud, Jad and Karim’s mother, and the woman behind so much of the food’s heart and flavour. Her cooking carries the feeling of a Lebanese family kitchen: generous, instinctive and full of care. These are recipes shaped by memory as much as method, carried down through the family and now brought to the table in Notting Hill.
At KINZ, that spirit is at the centre of the menu, with tables filled with smooth Hummus, smoky Moutabal, crisp Kibbeh, tangy Tabbouleh, fragrant grills, and dishes that invite everyone to share. The menu brings together the comfort of everyday Lebanese cooking with the sense of occasion that comes from gathering around the table.
Expect gentle spices, vibrant herbs, slow-cooked dishes and soulful plates that speak to the richness of Lebanon’s culinary heritage. This is food made for returning to again and again. For anyone searching for a Lebanese restaurant London diners can feel truly connected to, KINZ offers something heartfelt, fresh and deeply rooted.
Exceptionally Placed in Notting Hill
When we first started thinking about opening KINZ, Notting Hill felt like the natural choice. As west Londoners, it is a neighbourhood we know and love, and one where we already had strong ties through Rasha’s other restaurant, Akub, and through Jad and Karim’s catering business, with many of our guests and clients already based in the area. Opening a Lebanese restaurant in Notting Hill therefore felt personal from the beginning. It gave us the chance to create a restaurant in London that could feel both deeply local and true to the Lebanese hospitality we wanted to share.
KINZ is set within the former Lloyds Bank building on Notting Hill Gate, a 1930s building designed by renowned architect Sir Edward Maufe. Its history and scale give the restaurant a character of its own, from the generous main dining room to the original bank vault, now reimagined as a dedicated wine room with intimate dining spaces and tasting tables.
Moments from Portobello Road and its famous market, close to Holland Park, Hyde Park and the energy of Notting Hill Gate, KINZ sits in a neighbourhood full of character and movement. It is a place where residents, tourists and diners from across London come to wander, eat, shop and discover something new. For us, it feels like the perfect setting: local enough to become part of daily life, but special enough to feel worth crossing London for. A Lebanese restaurant rooted in its neighbourhood, while offering something distinctive within the wider London restaurant scene.
